Chequer Tree Camp began in 1987 when a group of local Christians got together to provide a children's camp with a Christian ethos. Over the years camp has grown and developed into what it is today.
We currently meet at Boughton Monchelsea Primary School on the outskirts of Maidstone for two weeks during the summer holidays. The majority of children who attend camp are from Kent and some from further afield.
Chequer Tree Camp is run by The Family Trust. The Family Trust is a Christian charity based in Maidstone, Medway and Swale, working in local primary schools to promote the Christian faith. Many of the children who attend camp have got to know us through assemblies and school clubs run by The Family Trust.
While Chequer Tree Camp is a Christian camp, all children are welcome of all faiths or none and you will find children from a wide range of backgrounds. All the staff and volunteers who work with us do so because they love working with children. We do everything we can to make sure your child has the very best camp experience. If you have any further questions please get in touch we would love to hear from you.
